Michael Howard Welcomes SRA Announcement On High Speed Rail Link

Michael Howard, MP for Folkestone and Hythe, welcomes the announcement that Folkestone is to be included in the plans for the high speed rail service.

Mr Howard said:

“I am delighted that our campaign has at last come to fruition. This is fantastic news for Folkestone and I am delighted also that services stopping at Westenhanger have been increased to ten instead of the proposed eight per day. It is, however, a great pity that the service will not be operational until 2009 instead of the promised 2007. This is a failing entirely of the Government’s making.”
