Disgraceful State Of Hythe Footpath

Michael Howard, Member of Parliament for Folkestone and Hythe, has taken action to clear up the footpath between North Road and Hillcrest Road in Hythe following a complaint at Mr Howard’s regular surgery from Mrs Woff of Quarrybank, Hythe. The footpath had become so badly overgrown that, without urgent action, it would soon have become overrun. Mr Howard wrote to the Street Scene Manager at Shepway District Council demanding that action be taken to clear the overgrowth and this has now happened.

Mr Howard said:

“Local residents such as Mrs Woff rightly feel let down by Lib Dem controlled Shepway District Council. We are paying more than ever in Council Tax since the Lib Dems increased Shepway’s Council Tax by 29% yet we are not seeing a 29% increase in the levels of service for maintaining our footpaths.”
